Meet DJ Kyle

I started doing small parties for schools and my mates birthdays and realised just how much I loved entertaining the crowd. A few weeks of looking and I found the opportunity to train as a technician and DJ for Your Perfect Night. It's three years on and I'm about to go pro :)

I enjoy many eras of music, including 70's disco and motown especially, but I hold a special place for 90's dance music. Lots of experience on the dancefloor and in my own home, it's certainly my favourite collection of tunes.

Some people are put off by the late nights and the hard work, but not me. It makes me feel alive entertaining the masses; a full dancefloor is my drug of choice!

My spare time is often dominated by music, be it remixes and medleys, or my own constructions on the keyboard or drums, I spend a large amount of my time dedicated to the tunes.

7am is normally a time one reserves for waking up, but after the Young Farmers Ball this weekend, the last thing I've wanted to do is sleep. 2 45 minute sets from the band and DJ's Besty and Big Al mashed up the decks with a 2 hour battle. But wait, that leaves half an hour in between the band's sets, what are we gonna do for tunes? That sounds like my time to shine :P

Working off the biggest sound system and the biggest crowd I've ever performed with, my nerves were through the roof. I had such a great time, tearing up the dancefloor and lighting the rest of the night. Buzzing like a wasp who's found a jar full of jam :D

Just got home from the Bicton end of year Ball with Big Al, had an absolutely lovely crowd, making sure we were sorted with a cup of tea and a chat while we were setting up, and a love for our tunes all night. I'm already excited for the YFC ball on saturday, "we're gonna rig all day, and party all night!"

Well, not quite yet, but I'm getting right into the festive spirit. We have plenty of parties keeping us busy over the next month or so, and we're all looking forward to getting those christmas tunes pumping out of our speakers again.

It's not often that a 3 course meal in full lounge suit attire is what's needed from us, but Big Al and I were happy to assist. Suited up (and very well fed) we rocked the decks for Kingsbridge YFC, suave sophistication and style from all the guests, and a well received evening all round.

Well, it's been a big summer for me, lots of couples tying the knot, loads of clubs and party nights, and the odd request to shake up the night. Still plenty of time left in the year for some more great tunes and some cracking nights.

With 5 hours to fill it's nice to be able to vary the music out, ranging from Stevie Wonder's superstition, through to Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer. Loads of great requests all night, but a personal favourite goes out to The Grid's Swamp Thing, wrapping up the dance set towards the end of the night. A great time had by all, only a shame we had to finish at 1.

Just recovering from touring with Big Al at the weekend, with a great wedding fair to top off the weekend. As if one tour wasn't enough, we're back in the bus again for the Badminton All Week-End Party: A trio of hugely excited YPN presenters and 3 days of party, performance, and all round jovalities await :D

Only one thing left to say, has anyone seen the iPhone piano app? :P

Kyle :)
