Meet DJ Karat

Hi I’m Chris or “the Karat” if you prefer!

I have been DJing now for some 18 years, starting my DJing life as a Resident DJ at a local hotel, then moving on to the mobile market.

I’m principally a DJ but I’m also our Lead Sound Engineer and run most of our live music events.

Sound and lighting has always been a passion of mine and have always kept up-to-date with the latest Kit; it’s nice to be at the forefront of the market and buying new Toys when they first come out keeps us well ahead of the competition.  I have amassed a huge inventory of Equipment over the years and I’ve spend the last few years building one of the best PA systems in the business, because of this we are now able to cope with audience sizes of around 10,000 with our Electrovoice Line-Array sound system to complement our High-tech light shows.

Musically, anything goes really, but if I had to choose a favourite genre I would say Soul Music.  I had the pleasure of working with Ruby Turner last year as her FOH Sound Engineer when she head-lined the Dartmouth Music Festival and it got me listening to a lot more Soul Tunes.

Music policy:  It’s your Event so I’m more than happy to play anything you request  (although there is a ban on Black Lace!)
