Meet Tom

Hi my name is Tom; better known as Churchy. I started in the trade when I was 18 helping to roadie with some of the other guys. I started DJing myself a few years later and six years on I'm still going strong with Your Perfect Night. What I enjoy most about my job is that one night I can be in a big barn DJing a dance night to hundreds of drunk Young Farmers, and then the next night I can be in a posh hotel doing a wedding and cranking out the classics from yesteryear. I also enjoy working with a great bunch of lads and we often meet up after gigs at a dodgy burger van and share tales of the night. The travel and late nights can be hard at times but I love the fact I get to see loads of new places and meet lots of new people!! In my spare time I work as a trainer at a major company and I also play semi professional rugby.

Favourite music style....modern chart, 90's dance and also love the classics

Favourite gig of 2010.....3 spring to mind. The first was a Christmas party for the North Devon Hospital Junior Doctors. With the recent snow, it proved an interesting and somewhat dicey journey there, but once there a great night was had by all. The second would be the YFC Christmas ball. DJing to 2000 people gives you a buzz that can't be matched. The final one was NYE. With two hotel gigs down in Newquay, two of us set down 10am NYE and after a good long set up, I did a Video Disco for over 500 people, with a packed dance floor, for 8 solid hours! The pack up carried on until the next afternoon, but we returned with some great memories!

Favourite gig of all time....Cold as Ice ball 2007. 18 hours on site, but worth it, see pic below

Tune of the year...Flo Rida, The Club Can't Handle Me

Favourite tune ever.....Robin S, Show Me Love

Notable tune.....Westlife, Uptown girl <BLUSH>

The busiest night in the DJ Calendar saw me head over to Lyme Regis for the wedding of Chris and Rebecca . After setting up the platinum show in the day, I returned in the evening for a good night of partying. With the guests seeing in the new year down on the local beach, the new year traditions were still played to myself and the barman until the guests returned. And of course 2012 was kicked in with Westlife, Uptown Girl, a YPN tradition! With loads coming up in 2012 i'm looking forward to another busy year.

Happy new year to you all.

Much Love,

Churchy xx

I worked at Axminter Guildhall for a young farmers on Christmas Eve, good gig and I think I saw Santa on the way home, or maybe it was Big Al with a beard???

Merry Christmas from myself and all the guys at Your Perfect Night.

Yesterday saw me travel with DJ Kyle to a pub in Chittlehampton near South Molten for Kyran's 18th Birthday. With the north Devon young farmers crew in attendance, the pub was packed from start to finish, and a good night was had by all.

Happy birthday Kyran!!

Friday saw me at the motel for Honiton young farmers. With the usual bunch on site, a good night was had by all. With tensions a little high at one point, I pulled out 'All I want for Christmas is you' by Mariah Carey in a attempt to calm things down. Whilst it did the opposite and led to the classic "bouncers to the dancefloor", everyone had a good joke about it at the end!

Well it's been another busy month for me. Several young farmers, an 18th, an engagement party and a wedding for the willaims family who are always a great bunch to Dj too. Last friday saw myself, big Al, Karrot and Jamie do the EDF Energy awards at sandy park. Arriving on site for 10am with bacon sarnies, we set about rigging up which took most of the day.

As an 'EDFer' i then attended the meal and then got behind the decks to crack out a well recieved video disco. With Jamie LJing, Karrot on sound and Al event managing, the night was a great success and a packed dancefloor danced the night away. After a long pack up it was back home, with a few of the crews vechicles getting to know each other a bit too well!!!

Great night was had and the usual fun and frolics were enjoyed when ever we crew come together. Another busy month lies ahead so stay tuned for an update

Much love

Hi all. Apologies for lack of updates, as you imagine we are just coming out of peak wedding season,  so been all hands on deck for all of us. August was a busy one with several gigs, one highlight was Kimberley's wedding at Woodbury, cracking night had by all.

September seems to be the busiest month of the year recently, and it was no change this year with pretty much two gigs every weekend for all the guys. Some good nights were had, but a particular highlight would be the DJ 'hat' wedding for Laura Hyde (you'll see what i mean when i add some piccies soon) and Ben and Helen's wedding at the tumbling weir. From the first minute to the last, the D-floor was full, and a mixute of chart and classics were enjoyed by all, including a certain Big Al, who as a guest, led the dancing with his own unique style!

This friday is a public event, East Devon young farmers end of year knees up. Come and join in the party up at Luppitt Madness, 9-1.

Much love, Churchy xx.
