Meet Al

Hi, I’m Big Al and I’ve been with Your Perfect Night since the business was started, although I’ve been DJing for parties since ‘92 and on the pro circuit since ‘95. I’m the Principle Events Manager here and I also manage the bookings office.  I mainly handle the paperwork and admin for our events, but I’m a DJ too and entertaining is really my big passion.

As well as Event Managing and DJing, I also run our systems and technology, including keeping the VJ console up to date. I Video Jockey for some events and I’m also okay at sound engineering and stage management too.

I love the variety that we all get here at YPN; one night we could be in a swanky London hotel doing a classy Wedding Reception, and the next night in a barn in the WestCountry doing a fundraiser, so it never gets boring. I really enjoy the large scale events and concerts we do, but I’m glad we limit the number we do per year because otherwise I’d go mad with all the project management work.

My favourite gig of 2010 would probably be Mitch and Laura’s Wedding down in Newquay.  We were filmed for BBC’s Don’t Tell the Bride so there was a bit of pressure on, but the cameras left soon after the first dance and then the dancefloor rocked all night.   My best gig ever was the 2007 YFC Ball, the 'Cold as Ice Ball'; it isn’t the biggest or highest profile gig we’ve done, but it was our first large scale event with over 2000 guests and getting it right first time gave us all a great feeling of accomplisment.  The best thing is… that we do the same size of events for all sorts of customers, three time a month or more now and it’s all taken in our stride!
